ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT
DIRECT ADMISSION TO Ph.D. PROGRAMME 2014-15

The University admits a limited number of candidates directly to Ph.D. programme
either on the basis of viva-voce or on the written examination and viva-voce, as
may be decided both in Monsoon and Winter Semesters in various areas of
research in the (1) School of International Studies (2) School of Social
Sciences (3) School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies
(4) School of Computer & Systems Sciences (5) School of Physical
Sciences (6) School of Environmental Sciences (7) School of Life
Sciences (8) School of Arts and Aesthetics (9) School of Computational
and Integrative Sciences (10) School of Biotechnology (11) Centre for
the Study of Law & Governance (12) Centre for Molecular Medicine and
(13) Centre for Sanskrit Studies. Candidates are required to check the
availability of seats in each Centre/School before applying for admission in
Monsoon and Winter Semester.
Eligibility: Candidates are requested to refer to the eligibility requirements for
direct admission to Ph.D. programme for each School/Special Centre in the
"Instructions for completing the Application Form" which are available on JNU
website along with this Application Form.Please Note that the applications
of the candidates whose M.Phil/M.Tech./Pre-Ph.D./MPH results are not
available will not be considered under any circumstances. Hence, the
applications of only those candidates can be considered whose results
are indicated/available in the application form.
Candidates enjoying employed status and selected for admission shall
be required to produce LEAVE SANCTION ORDER for a period of two
years at the time of admission/registration. However, there is a limited
provision for exemption of this requirement to candidates employed
in research and teaching Institutions located in NCR.
Application Forms along with eligibility requirements and Instructions for completing
the Applicaion Form can be dowloaded from the website of the University
(www.jnu.ac.in) and submitted to the Section Officer (Admissions),
Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi - 110067 duly filled in all respects
enclosing therewith the required documents and a Demand Draft of the required
amount drawn in favour of "Jawaharlal Nehru University" payable at New
Delhi as detailed in the Instructions for completing the Application Form.
Last date for receipt of completed Application Form along with all
documents is 31st January, 2014.
However, admission in Winter Semester will be need based and subject to
availability of seats in each area of research. Interested candidates are therefore
required to enquire about the availablity of seats in the discipline for which they
intend to apply for direct admission to Ph.D. programme before submitting
Application Forms for admission in Winter Semester beginning January, 2015.
The Application Forms for Winter Semester beginning January 2015
will be available from 1st September to 15th October, 2014 and last
date for submitting the Application Forms will be 15th October 2014.

    ആകെ 22 questions..അതുപോലും ഒരു pg syllabus നോക്കി set ചെയ്യാന്‍ പറ്റാത്ത teachers എന്തിനാണ് ആ job സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നതു് ? typographical error പിന്നേം മനസ്സിലാക്കാം.and the        
        remaining ?????
   
    അവലംബം : PG 3rd semseter examaination december 2013 , Quantum Mechanics , Qn.paper code : D51681

    1.questions വളരെ simple എന്നതില്‍ തര്‍ക്കിക്കുന്നില്ല.
    2.part A-qn 3......സത്യത്തില്‍ എന്താണ് virtual or metastable states in WKB approximation ? Thankappan sirന്റെ book വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത എനിക്ക് Zettili-WKB നോക്കീട്ട് അങ്ങനെ ഒന്നു             കാണാന്‍ പറ്റിയില്ല.
    3.part A-qn 6......എന്താണ് അര്‍ത്ഥമാക്കിയതെന്നു മനസ്സിലായില്ല
    4.part A-qn 11.....ഈ paperല്‍ അത് പഠിക്കുന്നില്ല...physicsലെ ഏതു questionഉം ചോദിക്കാമെന്നാണൊ ?
    5.part A-qn5 & qn 12.........is there any difference bwn the two ? & typo
    6.part B-qn2.........meaning of 2nd part ? & typo ?
    7.part C-qn1 and qn2......is there any difference bwn the two ?
    8.part C-qn3.........ഈ paperല്‍ അത് പഠിക്കുന്നു ??
    9.part C-qn5......... typo ??
    10.part C-qn6........ഈ paperല്‍ അത് പഠിക്കുന്നു ??ഏതു questionഉം ചോദിക്കാമെന്നാണൊ ?
    11.Quantum Field Theory.....electronicsലാണൊ പഠിക്കുന്നത് ? (any adjustment to put away a comparatively tough chapter ?)

    Sirs ഒന്നു ആലോചിക്കണം........syllabusനെക്കുറിച്ചും teaching/learning standardനെക്കുറിച്ചും ഒക്കെ കൂലങ്കഷമായ discussion നടത്തുന്ന (നമുക്ക് ) ഒരു question paper      
    (എങ്കിലും) നിലവാരത്തില്‍ set ചെയ്യാനുളള steps ensure ചെയ്യാന്‍ പറ്റില്ലെ ? 90 days മുഴുവന്‍ കിട്ടാത്ത ഒരു semesterല്‍ ഓട്ടപ്രദക്ഷിണം നടത്തുന്ന teachers & students...higher studiesനും മത്സര
    പരീക്ഷകള്‍ക്കും  ഉതകുന്ന എത്ര questions ആ peperല്‍ കാണാം....എന്നിട്ടും......

     ചില കുട്ടികളുടെ സങ്കടങ്ങളും കൂടിയാണു ഇത്രയും പറയാന്‍ കാരണമായത്....subject expertനൊടും  അഭിപ്രായം ചോദിച്ചു..... പറയാനുളള അര്‍ഹതയെക്കുറിച്ചൊ സ്വന്തം നിലവാരത്തെക്കുച്ചൊ  ആലോചിച്ചിട്ടില്ല..

    വിവാദമുളളതൊ വേദനിപ്പിക്കുന്നതൊ ആയ പരാമര്‍ശങ്ങള്‍ കാണുന്നെങ്കില്‍ സദയം ക്ഷമിക്കുക.........

Applications are invited for a junior research fellow, leading to PhD, in a DST sponsored research project at Department of Physics, Govt.Victoria College, Palakkad.
Number of vacancy: 1
Period: 3 years
Qualifications: M.Sc. Physics/Materials Science with UGC-CSIR NET/JRFqualifications.
M.Sc./M.Phil. qualified students will be considered inthe absence of NET/JRF qualified candidates.
Fellowship: Rs. 8000 -16000 per month, based on the qualifications+10% of fellowship amount as HRA
Benefits: Selected fellow has to work on a research project entitled
“Investigation of doped copper oxide for p-channel thin film transistor application”, sponsored by DST, Govt. of India
.
 Departmentof Physics, Govt.Victoria College, Palakkad is a recognized research centre of University of Calicut and the fellow can register for PhD.
Objectives of the projectinclude, doping of copper oxide thin films to optimize the electrical and optical properties of the material to fabricate high performance p-type thin film transistors (TFT).
   This project will be carried out in collaboration with a leading research group in optoelectronic devices and the fellow will get access to some of the modern material fabrication techniques like PLD,
  RF sputtering, evaporation etc.. and characterisation tools like HRXRD, AFM, micro Raman, UV-Vis-IR Spectrophotometers, Hall Effect measurement system, Semiconductor parametric analyser etc..
